Once a reader always a reader, they
Would tell me, as I opened a new book,
And discovered a new world. I made new
Friends, and for a moment, they were real.
When I was told reading was nerdy, and
Deeply frowned upon, I was confused. My
Young mind could not understand why people
Despised these innocent words on a page.
Many years, and many books later, I
Have come to the conclusion that people
Are scared of books, of the worlds, of the themes,
The ideas that are held within them.
They don't want us asking questions, so that
We may believe everything they say, that
This is where we belong, and we should not
Aspire to anything greater. They are
Greedy, feeding the uneducated,
The close-minded, and the extremists. Books
Free the reader of reality, make
Them understand that there is hope for a
Better world. One where people are free to
Chose their own path, make their own lives, away
From religious or patriarchal ways,
Freeing the oppressed, giving them a voice.
A blog to describe what I see in the world we live in today through poetry, essays and short stories.

The Ultimate Fight
Seven billion humans and counting, how
Can you ever hope to change the world, shape
It into the one you see in your dreams,
You, little and unimportant, longing
For a better world. How can you succeed
In challenging centuries of a way
Of life. The answer, my dear, is right in
Front of your nose, dangling, waiting for you.
Small against the vastness of the world, but
Yet you are the most important thing in
The universe, holding the power to
Bring change upon our world with your actions.
You, one amongst billions, must take up the
Call, show everyone the better world we
Can build, working together, uniting
Against enemies of humanity;
Hunger, thirst, sickness, death, mental illness,
Depression. Things we can end by working
Together, collaborating, as one
Unity, one team, one person, one race.
Can you ever hope to change the world, shape
It into the one you see in your dreams,
You, little and unimportant, longing
For a better world. How can you succeed
In challenging centuries of a way

Time
Take a moment and look around you, think
About due dates, bedtimes, travel times. Think
About when you were late, how much time you
Put into tasks, assigned to each person.
Time is a human invention. If you
Look around, birds are never late, a deer
Is not rushed, squirrels don't have a mealtime.
Dogs don't have a bedtime or a naptime.
Humanity alone is the one ruled
By time, a law of our own invention.
Clocks are everywhere, there is a time for
Everything, yet there is no time at all
For what really matters. Not enough
Hours in the day for the things you want to
Do. Obligations piling up as we
Go, fearing the day when time will run out.

By time, a law of our own invention.
Clocks are everywhere, there is a time for
Everything, yet there is no time at all
For what really matters. Not enough
Hours in the day for the things you want to
Do. Obligations piling up as we
Go, fearing the day when time will run out.

Human Instict (reworked)
Happy the man who is angry and scared,
For he is fundamentally mortal
More honest with himself and the world, dared
Speak his mind, protest inhuman morals.
Fear, the driving force of humanity
Has made us stronger, faster, blood pumping
Through our veins, pure rage helping it along,
Making men desperate for their freedom.
From the trenches of war, humanity
Rose form the ashes, anger their powerful
Incentive, building civilisation
From ruin, in ungodly lands, they strived
Happy the man who is angry and scared,
For he is a Creator, a fighter,
Poet, a knight of the unwritten word
The building block of an equal world.
For he is fundamentally mortal
More honest with himself and the world, dared
Speak his mind, protest inhuman morals.
Fear, the driving force of humanity
Has made us stronger, faster, blood pumping
Through our veins, pure rage helping it along,
Making men desperate for their freedom.
From the trenches of war, humanity
Rose form the ashes, anger their powerful
Incentive, building civilisation
From ruin, in ungodly lands, they strived
Happy the man who is angry and scared,
For he is a Creator, a fighter,
Poet, a knight of the unwritten word
The building block of an equal world.

A Writer's Soul
I am angry, my body shaking from
Holding it in. Being dismissed, ignore
Discredited. One minute a child, the
Next a young lady. My hopes and dreams are
Mocked, my opinions put aside, because
Of my age, my youth and my innocence.
No one sees beyond the physical, into
The mind, the very essence of a person.
I have seen worlds burn to the ground, lived a
Thousand lives, felt a thousand pains, suffering
Beyond comprehension. I have felt the
Loss of hope, I have had nothing to lose.
I am a reader, a writer. Words my
Only escape, flowing through my veins, swirling
Under my skin, a silent storm of Ice
And Fire, waiting to be free from their cage.

Human Instinct
Happy the man who is angry and scared,
For he is fundamentaly mortal
More honest with himself, and the world, dared

Anger shaped humans throughout history,

Has made us stronger, faster, blood pumping
Through our veins, to the brain, helping thoughts bloom.
From the trenches of war, humanity
Rose from ashes. anger, their powerful

For he is a Creator, a fighter,
